Abstract

Advances in digital technology offer numerous avenues for disseminating research findings as well as in documenting them for diffusion in the society.  Information service professionals are the first who become aware of these opportunities and support the organization or group in harnessing and enduring the information for the development of the society. Evaluation of reported results of scientific research is a very important function, which is presently fulfilled by information service systems. Evaluation of productivity and its impact can happen at the level of an individual author; a department; a research group, or an institution/university.
