Agricultural Informatics to Address Challenges in Increased Food Production
Abstract
The world's population is estimated to reach 9.2 billion in nest 30 years, which will double the need for food. This requirement needs to be met with the limitations of declining arable land area, disastrous pests, irregular and extreme weather patterns resulting from climate change, as well as pandemic diseases like COVD-19, which reduces the capability of human resource. Failure to win over these challenges will result in widespread famines and threat to social and political stability. Application of Agricultural Informatics like GIS, remote sensing, precision farming etc are our weapons to face the challenges and increase food production
