Informatics for Conservation of Recorded Knowledge

Abstract

Recorded knowledge in a wide sense consists of creations like text, image, sound, performing arts, sculptures, and the like. Most of them are built up or developed from the sweat and blood of the common people. So the heritage items are the common property of the people of the region belonging to different communities, religions, and economic and social levels. As sustainable development depends on indigenous knowledge, conservation of the records containing it is a common man’s requirement. Informatics can play a major role to document, watch and manage recorded knowledge including text other formats that can help to sustain life.
