Social Science Research: A Comparative Study in Terms of Output From India, China and Brazil

Abstract


This paper compares the status of social science research of India, China and Brazil, as reflected in the output of their publications, using various quantitative and qualitative indicators. It particularly focuses on the analysis of global publication share and rank, annual publication growth rate, national publication share, international collaborative publications share and research impact as reflected in citation analysis. It studies the similarities in the research profile of these three countries. It as well looks at the assigned priorities and the citation impact of different sub-fields under the five broad social science subjects, such as business, management and accounting, decision sciences, economics, econometrics and finance, psychology and social sciences (general) in the countries.
